How to Use GFDx
The GFDx database covers 196 countries and tracks five commonly fortified foods: maize flour, oil, rice, salt, and wheat flour. It is continuously updated as new data and information become available. The current dataset includes information on:
- Food fortification legislation
- Fortification standards
- Food intake and availability
- Proportion of foods industrially processed
- Regulatory monitoring protocols
- Fortification compliance and quality
- Population coverage
- Alignment of fortification standards with WHO guidelines
- Potential nutrient intake from fortification
- Health status before and after fortification
Within the GFDx site, you can create custom visualizations with our interactive tools—from custom maps to detailed charts and tables—or download the complete dataset for your own offline analysis.
